Easter 2008

It's really hard to get a good picture of both boys. You'll see what I mean when you look at the first three photos. When one looks cute, the other is doing something odd...starting with Will having about 4 pieces of gum in his mouth.
Both of them had totally dismantled their baskets before I got a chance to take a picture, but I guess that's the way it is supposed to be.
A little egg hunting was next on the agenda. Will and I took turns hiding them from each other, and he learned how to play the "hot/cold" game and loved it.

Our attempt at a family picture...

Another Snow Day!!

For the second time this week, Will got to play in the snow which is something he has done only once in his life before this week. He loves it as most children do. He woke up this morning with a sense of urgency that reminded me of myself when I was a kid. I could not get him out there fast enough to suit him. I was feeding Jake and doing household stuff while he sat at the window making sure that the snow wasn't melting away. By 9:00 his patience was wearing out, so I put Jake down for a nap, and we started the layering of clothing process (which tested his patience even more...he takes after his dad in the patience department!!) Here are some pics from the morning. We weren't very well equipped with accessories for the snowman, so I'm sure he looks pretty pathetic in your adult eyes. But, imagine the snowman through the eyes of child and maybe you will see a magnificent snowman like Will does...or maybe not.

Getting started...
Yeah...I'm wearing my mom's sunglasses because I couldn't find mine!
Packing on more snow...
Voila...the finished product!! (cowboy hat, M&M face and all)

Snow Day!!!!!!

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning, and the first thing out of Will's mouth was, "When can I go play in it??" So, we met up with some friends for some sledding on the levy behind our neighborhood.

Starting out the morning....
Will's first trip down the hill...it took a little coaxing from Nate and Jeff.
Will and Annie going down together
Will and Ben going down...
...and then getting airborn!!

Will at the bottom of the hill. I think we made some memories today!!

Go Diego Go!!

This past Saturday Will and I went to the Orpheum Theater in Memphis to see Diego Live: The Great Jaguar Rescue. Our friends Melissa and Reece went with us, and we had a great time. The pictures from the show didn't turn out so great, but I posted them anyway.

Patiently waiting for the show to start...

During intermission...

Is that Baby Jaguar or Will???Will and Reece

Diego's grand entrance...swinging in to his clubhouse!!

Diego and Dora are traveling down the river...

The end of the show...

What's a trip to Memphis without of picture of "The King"??

Brotherly Love

Well, we've made it to the stage where I hear, "MOM, Jake won't leave my stuff alone!!" Jake loves to be anywhere Will is, and he loves four year old toys a lot more than 10 month old toys. So I've tried putting some of Jake's toys right beside his big brother's hoping that he will leave Will's things alone and play with what is appropriate for him...but it only works about 5% of the time! Jake will usually only play with his own toys when Will is playing with them, too. So being the good big brother that Will is, he makes some sacrifices and plays with the "baby" toys sometimes. The other day Will went with Billy to get the boat ready for a fishing tournament, and Jake kept crawling to Will's bedroom, so I had to shut the door to keep him out. That only turned into Jake crying at his bedroom door. He really misses him when he is gone, so it's really cute when Will comes home because Jake gets so excited!

The boys playing in Jake's room

Will is trying to keep Jake still for the picture, but Jake is not wanting to be still and is having a small fit!

Jake is really into "patty cake" now. You can see him practicing in the background. Also, this is the first picture I've taken of him that shows he can stand without holding onto something.
Doing "patty cake" again!!

You can't really see Jake's face in this picture, but he is cracking up. If Will smiles at him, he just squeals and cracks up. I just love this picture for some reason!
